DESCRIPTION: APW - Howard Keystone, 17J, 10S, heavy 14K green gold OF original Howard case with rear having applied gold high relief badge marked "Captain Fire Dept., New York, 20 Years Active Service," inner rear with signature ring and inscription "Presented to Captain Peter J. McKenzie by the Off. & Memb. of Eng. Co. 239 Nov. 1927. 1907-1927," metal dial, SW-SS, nickel-plated train wheels, striped pattern nickel damascene, s#29361. Gross weight of assembled watch 37.6 dwt (58.5 g). An impressive piece with great appeal to the collector of firefighting associated items.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous plates with some scattered micro-fine scratches; dial with dark spotting throughout perimeter, fine scratches within seconds-register; excellent hands, minute with oxide at tip; case shows very little wear, denting visible within rear caused by applied detail, no other dents or dings, excellent engraving detail, some dark toning around applied detail; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal.
